Minutes of the proceedings of the Commissioners Appointed to Settle the Boundaries between the Patents of Kakiate and Cheesecocks in Orange County, New York, 1771 Jan.-1771 Sep. The commissioners were William Nicoll, George D. Ludlow, Benjamin Kissam, Thomas Hicks, and Samuel Jones. Cheesecocks was represented by William Smith, and Kakiate by William Wickham and John De Noyellis. The first meeting of the commissioners was held at Richard Bolton's tavern in New York, with later minutes held there and elswhere. Numerous witnesses examined by the commissioners are named and items of documentary evidence, along with information relevant to the dispute, is reviewed and recorded.
